WHAT IS YOUR NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?
At the first session, we start by an interrogation including enquiring about past trauma, injuries and surgical procedures, complete review of systems.
We then proceed to testing using palpation, orthopaedic evaluation, neurological an vascular evaluation.
The next step is osteopathic treatment, followed by recommendations (functional exercises & stretches, lifestyle changes, nutritional guidelines).
We then establish a case-specific strategy for your recovery.
Pease bring all medical records such as imagery (MRI, X-Rays, PET Scan, Ultrasound) and blood test results.
WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?
Osteopathy is a manual medicine taking into account the entire human body. Treatment includes manual techniques on the musculoskeletal, cranial, cardiovascular, digestive and urogenital systems. The osteopath facilitates mechanisms of regulation and self regulation, to restore the proper functioning of nervous, vascular and biomechanical mechanisms.
DO I NEED A MEDICAL DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?
During the first steps of the osteopathic evaluation, we may determine that you need to consult a medical doctor for additional testing before we can proceed with the treatment. Osteopathic training includes recognizing certain conditions that primarily require medical attention.
You otherwise need a medical doctor’s referral for insurance claiming purposes. Please verify with your insurance company and obtain the referral before booking your osteopathy session.
WHAT TYPES OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU ACCEPT?
Pease check with your insurance provider prior to booking your treatment that osteopathy is covered by your policy. Also verify if you require a referral by a medical practitioner; in which case you must obtain the written referral for your reason of consultation before your osteopathic treatment. We can refer you to medical practitioner for consultation.
